Starting or growing a new business is a milestone achievement in itself, so the last thing you want to worry about is whether your advertising or marketing will come under the watchful eye of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

That’s why we’re going to be at the Business Show on the 6 & 7 June raising awareness of the Advertising Codes, and making sure that those of you from SMEs or Start-ups have the tools you need to help you get your ads right first time. By doing so it will help to build and protect your brand’s reputation, and in turn consumers’ trust in your business.

This will be a great opportunity to meet us at the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP), the body responsible writing the Codes, as well as the ASA, the body that administers them – you’ll be able to find us at Stand 548 on both days.

You may also be interested to find out about the wide range of expert advice and training services we offer, many of which are free. Our Help Notes and newsletters are just a couple of examples of the resources we have, that are used by businesses across sectors that have helped us maintain standards in the advertising industry – for the benefit of business and consumers.

As well as this Lynsay Taffe, our Director of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs will be delivering a must attend seminar for anyone planning to advertise their business. The seminar, ‘Advertising Must Dos and Clever Tricks of the Trade’, takes place on:

Thursday 6 June - 13.15 – 13.45 - Seminar Hall 10

Friday 7 June - 13.15 – 13.45 - Seminar Hall 15

In the meantime why not visit our dedicated page for SMEs which includes our top five tips to get you started. We look forward to meeting you in June, but remember you can always get in touch if you have any questions.
