Welcoming today’s announcement that the Advertising Association has set up a new industry panel to address some of the concerns outlined in the Bailey Review, Chairman of CAP / BCAP James Best said:

“CAP and BCAP, the Code writing bodies responsible for making sure UK advertising rules for children are appropriate and effective, will very much look forward to hearing the Panel’s expert views during our consideration of Reg Bailey’s recommendations and other children’s marketing issues in the future.”

The Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP / BCAP) are the bodies responsible for setting the UK Advertising Codes and developing industry guidance on the rules. Members of the Committees are representatives of advertisers, agencies, media owners and other industry groups, all of which are committed to upholding the highest standards in advertising.

The Committees will be fully considering the recommendations of the Bailey Review.
