Our industry training seminars for 2007 ended with another successful introduction to self-regulation in December.

Our schedule of events for 2008 is just as packed.  To make sure you attend the events that are relevant to you, read the list below:

Advice:am Child’s Play: a grown-up guide to advertising to children responsibly
5 March 2008, CAP’s offices, London

Few advertising practices are as controversial or as sensitive as advertising to children.  Advertisements and marketing communications targeted at, appealing to or featuring children are scrutinised wherever they appear.  The CAP and BCAP Codes set out clear rules for advertisers who market to children, whatever the product or service.

If you want to make sure that your marketing communications promote your product or service without breaking the Codes, sign up for this free event on the dos and don’ts of advertising to children.

Advice:am Beauty claims
2 April 2008, CAP’s offices, London

On 2 April, CAP will run an Advice:am seminar on advertising beauty products specifically for agencies involved in creating or planning campaigns for cosmetic, toiletry and perfumery products.  Our expert team of Copy Advice executives are here to provide the relevant information to stop you from falling foul of the ASA.  If you work for an agency and would like to attend or if you are a client and would like your agency staff to come along, e-mail us at events@cap.org.uk for further details.

Afternoon Advice Seminar  Environmental claims
12 June 2008, Coin Street, London

Executives from CAP are offering advice, guidance and training on environmental claims in advertisements.  Their expertise and knowledge, alongside information from the Code sections dedicated to environmental claims, will help you advertise without breaking the rules.

This event will be held on 25 June at the CAP offices in Holborn, London. (More information will be on our website later in the year)

International Direct Marketing Fair 1 to 3 May

Experts from both the ASA and CAP will attend the International Direct Marketing Fair 2008 on 29 April to 1 May in Earls Court, London, and will offer advice and guidance on how direct marketers can ensure their campaigns, both electronic and paper-based, comply with the CAP Code.
