The CAP website: you tell us what you think

16 March 2007

Towards the end of last year, CAP and the ASA ran an online survey to find out what visitors thought of our websites.  The results were great but we’re not complacent.  We still want you to tell us whether the sites meet your needs.

The CAP website is a key tool in the delivery of our services to the industry and we are committed to ensuring that it meets our stakeholders’ needs.  We can do that only if we know how we can best meet your requirements online.  The simplest way to tell us what you think about the sites is to send an e-mail with your feedback to feedback@cap.org.uk.  As we develop the sites we’ll take on board the ideas and suggestions that you send us.

The website survey: what did you think?

The CAP website received a very high satisfaction score from those who completed the online survey and an even higher score for the usefulness of the content.  We can improve how the site is laid out and we shall take that into account as we continue to develop the site.

Key results from the survey were:

Satisfaction

Among industry visitors: 80% very good or good; 17% thought it average
Among members of the public: 74% very good or good; 20% thought it average

Website features

Usefulness of content: 81% responded very good or good; 16% responded average
Speed of downloading: 78% responded very good or good; 16% responded average
Speed of navigation: 74% responded very good or good; 19% responded average
Ease of understanding language and terminology: 74% responded very good or good; 20% responded average
Accuracy of search engines: 72% thought it very good or good; 18% thought it average
Ease of finding what you are looking for: 70% responded very good or good; 20% responded average
Layout and design: 63% responded very good or good; 24% responded average
Usefulness of links to other websites: 62% responded very good or good; 31% responded average

We are keen to improve links to and information about other regulatory matters that affect our stakeholders so that they are able to get the whole picture of the way marketing communications are regulated.  Also, we recognise the benefit of good search functionality and will strive to make finding relevant information as quick and easy as we can.

Both the ASA and CAP sites are valued by our stakeholders and we continue to strive to provide a best-of-class service.
