Recent and Future Training and Events: live and ‘webcast’

16 March 2007

Training and advice on rule changes plays a key part in the CAP Executive’s work at the moment as new rules come into force for food advertising to children and for gambling.  It is vital to ensure that advertisers, agencies and media owners know without delay the implications of new rules and that has prompted us to launch our first event webcast to reach as much of the industry as we can.

Recent Events

Food for thought: a bite-sized guide to the new rules for television advertising of HFSS foods

On 28 February, almost 200 industry figures gathered at BAFTA to hear from BCAP and the BACC on the new content and schedulling rules for TV advertisements.  At the Advice:am master class, BCAP, who drafted the new content rules, and the BACC, who will clear TV ads against the new rules, provided guidance on how the new rules are going to be interpreted and enforced.  To watch the webcast of the event, please click here.

Scotland: An Insider’s Guide to the ASA

On 14 March, the Advertising Standards Authority ran two events, one in Glasgow and  one in Edinburgh. The free-to-attend briefings were an excellent opportunity for those who are involved in the production, design, publishing or distribution of advertisements or other marketing communications to learn about how the ASA works.
