The ASA and CAP recently welcomed over 100 agency new recruits through their doors to be trained on the dos and don’ts of advertising and were in Bristol towards the end of November to update practitioners in the area on the latest developments in ad regulation.

ASA Graduate Training Seminars for IPA agencies
Over one hundred recent graduates gathered over four days to find out more about the self-regulatory system and meet ASA and CAP staff. The graduates heard from the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre and the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre as well as top speakers from agencies such as WCRS, Abbott Mead Vickers.BBDO, Clemmow Hornby Inge and Publicis.
The graduates had the chance to judge ‘real’ ads according to the codes and compare decisions with those taken by the ASA Council.

International Direct Marketing Fair

The CAP Copy Advisers will be on hand again this year to offer help and advice to all direct marketers. The team will be at the fair to promote the direct marketing Code clauses that cover obtaining, compiling, processing and using personal data for the direct marketing of products as well as what to do when targeting consumers with e-mail and text messages.
