Since the last issue of Update@CAP, CAP has held an Advice:am session on the rules for motoring ads and direct marketing.

Advice:am Motoring Seminar
23 May 2006, CAP’s offices, London

Representatives from leading car manufacturers and ad agencies attended this morning briefing, which looked at the rules and regulations for motoring ads.  Brendan Patterson from CAP and Daira Moynihan from the ASA gave delegates a detailed guide to the specific content rules for motoring ads including: what you can and cannot say when referring to a car’s performance, acceleration and top speed, past rulings about the types of imagery and headlines that might cause problems with the ASA and how to avoid falling foul of the rules on truthfulness with price claims in car ads.

4 July 2006, CAP’s offices, London

Up Close and Personal, a guide to direct marketing and database practices, took place on Tuesday 4 July 2006.  This informative morning master class gave delegates the low down on the rules and regulations for direct marketing, helping them to stay compliant without compromising the creativity of their DM campaigns.

In response to popular demand, CAP will in September repeat the DM seminar it held in July.  This short morning meeting will provide important information and guidance to those involved in marketing directly to existing and potential customers via leaflets, brochures, letters, catalogues, mobile marketing, including SMS, and e-mail campaigns.  For more information, click here.

CAP Regulation Update
30 November 2006, Watershed Media Centre, Bristol

A free afternoon seminar for advertisers, marketers, agencies and media owners based in and around the Bristol area. ASA Graduate Training Seminars for IPA agencies
23 – 26 October 2006, ASA offices, London
