Compliance Executive at work

Although it shuns the bright light of publicity, the Compliance team works crucially behind the scenes to ensure that UK advertisements stay on the straight and narrow.  With a dedicated section on our website, you can now find out more about the Compliance team’s work.

Few people enjoy getting a letter from the Compliance team.  Because our role is enforcing ASA adjudications, a letter usually means a company’s ad has broken the Code.  More often than not, we ask for the ad to be immediately removed and seek a written assurance that it will be changed before it appears again.

Also, to maintain a level playing field for advertisers, we identify problems within industry sectors and act against advertisers who refuse to work within the self-regulatory system.
