Monitoring

Monitoring is a large part of our work. We assess ads in national and regional press and a sample of consumer magazines. We draw advertisers’ and publishers’ attention to ads identified as clear breaches of the Code and seek assurances of their withdrawal or amendment. In the last 12 months, we identified through monitoring more than 200 ads that breached the Code and secured assurances in 80% of cases that advertisers would withdraw and amend their ads.
