The CAP and BCAP Consultation on Non-broadcast and Broadcast Advertising of Gambling closed on 15 September 2006. CAP and BCAP would like to thank all those who responded.

Around 85 responses were received from members of the public, problem gambling organisations, the gambling industry, regulators, advertising agencies and media owners. Summaries of non-confidential responses to the consultation questions will be published on our website in due course.

The new rules will be published by May 2007 and, following a grace period to allow advertisers to prepare campaigns under the new rules, will enter into force in September 2007, at the same time as the Gambling Commission makes adherence to the rules an enforceable requirement for licensed gambling operators.
