The ASA administers the British Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing for advertisements on the Internet. The ASA's remit covers advertisements in paid-for space online, including banner and pop-up ads, sales promotions anywhere online and commercial e-mails. It does not cover general product information on home pages.
