Misleading advertising - what's it all about?

Three girls reading a magazine

Most complaints we receive are concerned with misleading advertising and all the codes we use – for TV, radio and non-broadcast advertising – lay down rules in this area.

Click here to read the section on Misleading Advertising in the TV Codes.  Similar rules on Misleadingness can be found in the radio codes.

You can also read the rules on substantiation, honesty and truthfulness in the CAP (Non-broadcast) codes.

The Codes also have specific rules on prices (TV, radio, non-broadcast), availability of products (TV, radio, non-broadcast) and guarantees (TV, radio, non-broadcast).
