Compliance

Checklist image

The Compliance team helps create a level playing field for advertisers by ensuring the findings of upheld ASA adjudications are implemented by all advertisers who may be affected.

The team employs a variety of methods to achieve its objectives, which are described below:

 Newspapers and magazines

Monitoring

We don’t just wait to receive complaints – we pro-actively monitor ads on TV, radio and on the internet, across both national and local media, to make sure standards are being maintained.

Sanctions

We have several sanctions that can be applied against advertisers who do not comply with the Code from ad alerts, legal backstops, CAP member intervention or poster pre-vetting.
